This was the most appropriate title I could come up with considering the amount of growth we have had going on in our lives. It has been months since my last blog, much to my dismay, but I truly have not had the time to sit and write. My time has been filled with GROWTH.

The Hawkins family, Fall 2008.
First and foremost, there has been some amazing spiritual growth in our home and in me. I have been praying for years to find a church home where I would be nourished spiritually and where I could grow. Wes and I started attending CrossPoint Community Church in Boone last November. In the nine months since we started attending, I feel as though I have grown more than I did in the seven years I attended our last church. I have met and fellowship with some amazing women who are welcoming, loving, supportive, wise, and non-judging. I have been attending Friday morning Bible study with them each Friday from 9:30am until 12pm. I wish we could daily! I truly feel so blessed! Of course, Satan always throws trials your way when you grow, which has been true with me during this time, but those trials have brought me joy. Why? Because I view it as proof that God is working in my life and our family and I am so excited about that! Abigail and Aiden seem to have grown up over night. This fact brings me a little pain, but much joy. Abigail is now in the first grade, wearing a size 7 and size 1 shoes. She is thrilled with her new class and is so excited to learn new things. Her first day of soccer is this Saturday, then she will begin horseback riding lessons and Kung Fu. Aiden, too, has grown quite a bit, now in a size 4 and size 10 ½ shoes. He has been progressing well with his SID and APD therapy, which I am still doing with him every day. He is doing well with social settings and is going to be taking more swim lessons this fall, as well as therapy twice a week at Abigail’s school. They have enjoyed playing together all summer and have a lot of “slumber parties” with each other.

Wes has recently finished his summer semester and will beginning fall classes soon. My tutoring has been challenging at times, but also enjoyable since I get to increase my own knowledge in doing so! We recently celebrated our seventh wedding anniversary and can’t believe how time flies, but also how much has happened in our lives in only seven years! Wes celebrated our anniversary by purchasing my first (and only!) tattoo. No, it isn’t temporary! I drew the idea myself, but did allow the artist to make his own artistic changes.

I am off to wrangle little ones and get my workout in for today! I am praying for you always and hope you are all well and happy!
