Yes, I am husbandless until late Wednesday night, which happens to be his birthday. Wes is currently on the coast of NC at the Blackwater camp doing SWAT training. If any of you are keeping up with national current events, Blackwater is under investigation for some things and a lot of protesters have been acting up around them, so keep Wes' safety in your prayers. They have a huge arsenal there, so I am sure they can protect themselves, but nonetheless, it isn't a place I'd want to go to right now.
We did buy our new car this past week. We got a Nissan Xterra, and I LOVE it. It drives so great, and it actually fits in the Boone parking spaces that the Jeep couldn't. The kids like it and Wes is really liking it, too. He likes it well enough that he is talking about getting himself an old used one and trading his truck in for it. I put a picture of it up above if you want to see it. It has tinted windows and 16's, so I am getting used to having to climb up into it! It reminds me of my senior year when I was driving my 4Runner and Val told me I looked like a "bad mammajamma" in it. I am truly just so happy that I have a car that runs!!!!!
Well, the present I wanted to get for Wes was out of my price range. You know I got him Braves tickets for our anniversary, so I thought I'd get him tickets to see the Cowboys play the Panthers on Dec 22 for his b-day (Wednesday). Well, I did not realize how much cheaper baseball was than football. Now I am on a search for a b-day gift within 3 days...very not like me! We'll see what I find. I am just glad that my Christmas shopping is finished so I can just celebrate Jesus' birth and not have all the running to do!
So, I am going to be painting the church nursery this week and trying to get it finished so that we can go to a new church. I know many of you think I should just go and let them finish painting themselves, but I don't break a commitment...even if people have been nasty to me there. I have heard a lot of good things about Three Forks, so that will be the first church we try.
The A-Team have been a bit wild lately. I think it is the Fall air. That cooler air doesn't drain as much energy as the Summer hot and humid air, so they have been a bit draining of my energy! That, and they are wrecking my housework, decorating the floor with the freshly washed and folded clothes. I think I will take them on an Autumnal scavenger hunt one afternoon this week. Maybe do some Fall and Halloween crafts or somethings with the treasures they find. We are going to bake cut-out sugar cookies in Fall shapes this afternoon and "paint" them with different colored icings and sugar. We are also going to have to plan this year's Fall Party at Nana's that we do every year.
I starting writing last night...wish me luck!
I hope you are all well and happy. You are in my prayers! I love you all!
