Blessings in a Simple Life
There are tiny glimpses of miracles everyday in life; I am writing this blog as a way to keep track of the simple joys that God has given me in an ordinary day.

Yesterday was my mom's (shhh... 48th) birthday...

So yesterday was spent making "Nana" happy. My kids spent the day with my mom and I ate dinner with my family for her birthday. The pictures above are the most recent pictures I have of my little Mum. The first one was taken of my parents on my son's 1st birthday, January 7th, 2006. (She was a bridesmaid that day in one of her friends' wedding.) The second picture was taken last Friday, August 25th, 2006. Oma, the kids, and I spent the day with mom as an early birthday celebration, eating out for lunch, playing at Blowing Rock Park, and shopping at the Tanger Outlet Center in Blowing Rock. We had a blast.

For those of you who do not know my mother, I wish you could spend one day with her because I know you would absolutely fall in love with her. She is a chronic giver, lover, and listener. She is a strong Christian with a faith that brings a calm to your spirit when you are around her. She is the best model I have ever found to fashion my life after as a Christian woman, wife, mother, and friend. I thank God every day for allowing me to be so very blessed by having her as my mom.

Such cute pictures, Jamie. Your parents still look so young and great! I love what you wrote about your mom, and I remember as a kid thinking how loving and patient she was. I am glad you had a good day celebrating Oma's birthday. The pictures you have recently posted of Abigail and Aiden are precious. Man they are growing so fast! Thanks for your encouraging comments on my blog.
