Blessings in a Simple Life
There are tiny glimpses of miracles everyday in life; I am writing this blog as a way to keep track of the simple joys that God has given me in an ordinary day.

Arriving for her appointment.
One last picture of her long hair.
Going back to the cutting chair. She was so excited!
They had to straighten her hair to measure it. Miss Judi showed her where the ten inch mark was, and Abby told her to take as much as she could. She wanted the little girl to have longer hair so she could do more with it!
This was the initial cut.
And- POOF! - it was gone!
Miss Judi then styled her up with a layered bob.

All new Abby with her new hair-do!
Showing off her new hair in the Boone "Mall".
A side-view of the bob while we waited for our lunch to be served at Tucker's.
Another picture at the check-out before we left.
This was taken with my cell phone. Daddy wanted an immediate text to see his little girl's new hair. Daddy has shown her off all over Watauga County!
She just got off the phone from telling her Nana about her donation to Locks of Love. She was so proud of herself!
And we are all proud of her, too!
She got to watch "Thumbelina" after her phone calls, before cleaning her room. (Usually, it would be room first, movie after.)
Even with it straightened, those super-curly pieces around her face hold some of their curl.
She is so proud of herself that she wants to do it again next year, if her hair grows enough by then. Mommy is in the middle of growing hers out for another donation, too. I guess it is becoming a Hawkins Family tradition. If you want to read more details about her donating, the blog below is her story.

Wow! The back was taken really short! Such a cute bob! She looks so cute with short hair! I'll bet she was nervous about it!
